The Northview ensemble has performed at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in 2004, 2010, and again in 2015. The minor in music literature requires 24 credits in applied study (private lessons), music theory, music history, piano, and ensembles. In 2004, 2008, 2013, and 2017, the Northview High School Chamber Orchestra, under his direction was a featured performer for the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. The minor in music theory and composition requires 26 credits in composition lessons, music theory, computer music, and music literature. The minor in music history requires 24 credits in music history, music theory, and other fine arts and foreign language/history classes. The minor in voice requires 24 credits in applied study (private lessons), music theory, music history, piano, and ensembles. The minor in piano requires 24 credits in applied study (private lessons), music theory, music history, piano, and ensembles. The minor in symphonic instruments or guitar requires 24 credits in applied study (private lessons), music theory, music history, piano, and ensembles. The newly revised minor in jazz/commercial music requires 25 credits in applied study (private lessons), music history, music and jazz theory, improvisation, and jazz electives in a number of interest areas. The minor in sacred music requires 26 credits in applied study (private lessons), music theory, music history, ensembles, and a specialty in organ or voice. The 10th Annual Showcase Concert presents a sampling of the School of Musics outstanding large ensembles, chamber groups, and soloists in conjunction with Ball States Family Weekend.We invite you to witness the exceptional talent of our students and help support student scholarships. This concert was originally scheduled as part of a joint orchestra and choirs performance on Sunday, February 27. The orchestra is led by Director of Orchestras Douglas Droste. You’ll receive intensive instruction from our faculty, and you may take advantage of the many resources and opportunities we provide.
